Koshy Lab Research:

We seek to understand how a ubiquitous, obligate intracellular parasite, Toxoplasma gondii, is able to persist in the brain, or central nervous system (CNS), of many mammalian hosts, including humans. By understanding the Toxoplasma-CNS interaction, we hope to find ways to cure people of this persistent brain infection and gain new insights into the fundamental biology that determines how the cells of the CNS modify the brain immune response.
